University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) is a Private State Private University specialising in technical education. In fact, it is the first State Private University on Science and Technology in the entire North East India. USTM is sponsored by ERD Foundation or Education Research Development Foundation, Guwahati. ERD is one of the educational societies in North East India having objective of imparting professional and technical education in the North Eastern part of the country. The University has been established under the provisions of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Act (No.6 of 2008) enacted by Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya, dated 02.12.2008 of Government of Meghalaya.
