Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, vide its Notification No. F-9-42/2005-u.3 (A) dated 27th June 2008, made dream project of Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru a reality by notifying Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya under section 3 of UGC Act 1956. With this notification Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate College, Kotwa - Jamunipur, Allahabad stands elevated to the status of Vishwavidyalaya from the session 2008-2009.
