The University has been established by the Jodhpur National University, Jodhpur Act, 2009 of Government of Rajasthan and is recognized as per sec. 2(f) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956. JNU materialised with the strong vision of CA. Kamal Mehta, Chairman of Kushal Education Trust. He brought together the already running Engineering College, Dental College, Pharmacy College and Management College, to form a University i.e. Jodhpur National University in the year 2008.
