Dayanand Girls Post Graduate College, Kanpur in 1959 by late.Virendra Swarup, Chairman Legislative Council, Uttar Pradesh, in a small bunglow called Green House in Civil Lines with an enrolment of 20 students and 6 teachers to teach them. It was then that efforts were made to seek affiliation from Agra Univesity for this girl section as an independent college. At present the college is running 48 academic programs at UG and PG level. It emphasis on research oriented education and greater job orientation of the academic programs.
