Stanley Medical College (SMC) is one of the premier government medical colleges located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Affiliated to the Madras University, Stanley medical college admits 250 students to its MBBS course every year. Though the original hospital is more than 200 years old, the medical college (as we know it today) was formally established on July 2, 1938 and inaugurated by the 'then Minister of Public Health' - T.S.S.Rajan.
